O.C. Commercial Construction Down 33%

In 2009 Orange County’s non-residential construction fell to the lowest level in 14 years.

The estimated value of building permits of offices, hotels and other non-residential structures totaled $951 million, which is down 33.7% from 2008 and nearly 2/3 below the level of Orange County building in 2006. This is the lowest level since 1995.

In Orange County their were no new industrial buildings built last year and office construction fell 96% from 2008.
