Homebuying Activity In O.C. Up 7%
In latest Orange County homebuying report – based on the 22 business days ending on January 8
– O.C. shoppers bought 2,569 residences. That was a 7% increase in buying activity from last year.
The median selling price of homes during this period was $430,000, a 8.9% increase from a year ago. Home sales of new homes by builders accounted for 7% of all residences sold in the period.
Single-family homes resold for 32% less than their peak pricing, while condos sell 37% below their peak in March 2006. Single-family homes were 70% more expensive than condos in this period.
